If it is a normal French azerty keyboard the full stop is on the line above the space bar, immediately to the right of the question mark, but you have to press shift to get it.
We did start watching this, and in fact quite liked it. But, I did get fed up with “her” constantly multi tasking poor Dick to make some arty farty thing for her, distracting from main buildings putting-right. Although i know she does some really artful design work, it’s like time and place. Plus it seems to not tell the whole picture of where all there money comes from, which generally others do not have. So quite false-ified in a way or two.
@Glenn Money comes from their (successful) previous lives, the current TV series, their weddings business. Far from “arty-farty” the stunning effects that she has created within the chateau is what is now enabling them to charge top dollar for their wedding business. Also, there are only so many hours of “man down hole”, “man knocking down wall” “man driving large tractor” that entertain, whereas, creation of amazing wall paper from old scraps of what they found in the chateau, wedging a stunning glass lift into one of the turrets, turning a scruffy lower entrance into an elegant boot room, creating an amazing plunge pool out of an old lavoir, having a floating yurt, converting an old trailer/shop into a great bar, all adds considerable value to their business. Bear in mind ALL of this is a marketing exercise. They are clever, know how to work the system, have the contacts, know how to be entertaining and are NOT naïve. Unlike so many of the people they now help (which brings in more money).
And along the way they are fun, laugh, enjoy themselves and make super escapist TV at a time where we desperately need something light-hearted.
She works as hard as he does. And behind the scenes I’m sure the basic building work is being done by others - much more fun watching Dick in the kitchen (he may finish up killing them all with the quantities of food mind you) or in his kitchen garden. They have the sense to know that if you go through life doing what you love things just go your way.
And, by the way, they obviously love each other. He is immensely proud of her - she of him. And they are fabulous parents (except for the food thing!) always involving their children in their adventures and giving masses of praise on the way. They are totally authentic in their behaviour. What is not to love?
Angel was a successful business woman and author before the chateau adventure, appearing on Dragons den and then starting up The Vintage Patisserie business.
Perfectly explained.
A life style and most people have not the courage or tools to enjoy.
Life is about who you get to know and how hard you wish to work.
Not sure that the tea shop was a huge money maker but I could be wrong. Making the cakes is hard work.Had a similar project in Chiswick and was very busy.Fabouche
Dragons Den yes she was on that.
Ah making or Taking
Operating a foodie shop takes rent, rates, stock, staff, taxes and all sorts.
Many of the foodie places may have closed their doors for the last time. The current situation is a nightmare.
They have also written books and are marketing the fabrics she had printed for the odd chair at the chateau, including one reproducing the diamond-shaped samples of wallpaper they found in the loft. Each of them is a very astute business person with decades of experience. The TV series are viewed worldwide, and fans are now copying their designs and turning minimalist white rooms into shabby chic ones with ornamented tea trollies everywhere. The latest series suggests that they are running a DIY consultancy, presumably not free of charge. I just can’t stand their son.
