I am about to leave Vietnam and come to France after 17 years. Have a cat and two dogs....
am going through the same process.... microchips done, rabies check done... now booking flights... My cat hates the cage! and she is a cantacerous old thing.... not sure if elle est jolie ou pas. but I love her. she was my son's and I promised him I would not leave her behind. I will be trembling at the airport when I fly with her and will think of you!
Thank you.
Wendy, I had the very same experience when I moved here with my dog in 2004. A fat dossier of all of the required documents in tow, acquired at no small expense, and customs just stamped my passport and waved us through. Never gave the dog in the crate a glance. She could have been foaming at the mouth and covered with all forms of pestilence. Pas problem, nous sommes occupés.
I know! A good friend was returning to England the same week we left for France. She had had several phone calls with DEFRA and we both spent many hours reading up on the regs and worrying over the wellbeing of our animals. Our two dogs will be flying over in May; it will be interesting to see if animals arriving through cargo have the same easy entry into France as Sid did. I suspect not.
We were lucky. And I think I was in shock for a good 48 hours. I still can't quite believe the nochalent approach of the douaniers and it makes me smile every time I remember them!
;-)
:-D
Awww. Well done Sid for looking cute at customs. And well done Wendy for getting through the experience. Hope you're all settling in nicely.
As for Andrew.... aHem! I LMAO :0)
;-)
:-D
Great to be learning some new idioms! I mean, imagine if I got propositioned in the market one day and I thought the guy was interested in cats!
Sorry, but I just couldn't resist it ;-)
Ah, I did wonder. I thought I was either being a bit thick or that really did mean what I thought....
Naughty, naughty Andrew!
oui, il est beau mais je préfère une belle chatte...! :-O
