If they want us to comply then we need a change in the UK. We need a AHC to travel our pets so issue one valid for more than one trip. Say a year or two or until the rabies vaccine date is up because pretty much nothing changes except us having to pay each trip. The latest on AHC is that it’s now valid for six months so let us use it as many times as we want within that six months and not just a single trip.

An update, having spoken to Easy pet in Ashford, our AHC vet. He is issuing AHC’s mainly for Le shuttle users. They have the AHC incase of a problem but so far none have reported needing it. They are going through on their EU pet passports.
Dover is different, some going through, others stopped so very much down to who is in the booth at the time. Interestingly a French man driving a French car with the pet passport showing his French address (his fathers) but travelling on a UK passport was prevented from travelling. He bombed up the M20 to Easy Pet who wrote him and AHC and then back to Dover to join a ferry.
No news from anyone going via Newhaven yet, we will get an AHC rather than a problem but will try out EU pet passport first.
Came over yesterday (Thursday), having not been that confident, re situation with prt passports, we decided to book an AHC to be collected en-route. Got to tunnel and went to pet reception, not interested in AHC and only inspected dogs passport. I asked about situation regarding pet passports, and all I was told was they often check the address in the pet passport. So still unsure for our future visits. Also french passport control not stamping passports.
The saga continues….Yesterday Brittany Ferries posted some info to say that EU pet passports held by UK residents will be accepted for travel into France -at least for the moment. Some relief for me as this morning had a quote from Vets4pets for £332.89 for an AHC.
Total and unmitigated rip off. 5 pets can go on one AHC EasyPet travel in Ashford £99 for the 1st pet (reduced)on subsequent visits 2nd pets lower cost again.
