EV - buy or wait?

@Corona ,out of interest, what EV do you drive?

This looks fun (US only at the moment)

Or the SUV rather than pickup version

I dont yet, I had ordered a Kia e-niro but along came Covid and redundancy and put a stop to that but exciting times with new models so keep a watchful eye.
Kia EV6 is not available yet, my error meant the Hyundai ionic 5 which is.

So what do you drive? With all this advertising and merchandising you do, it would be easy to think you either own the companies or at least big share packets from them.

Similar thought had crossed my mind.

Really, its just interest, no disclosures needed. My old Nissan Qashqai, several friends with EV’s from Teslas to Nissan EV200 van and one leaf.

Bigger batteries available in the 2022 MG range especially the ZS EV taking it to a claimed 273 miles per charge and still the cheapest.

Autocar: Updated MG ZS EV gets 273-mile range and new look.

Cripes that’s ugly from the front.

TBH most SUV’s are, add EV to it and some designers seem to suffer a hiatus on the easy on the eye look.
Another reason I like the e-niro its normal. Some of the other Chinese models are better and NIO just hired a German car designer to aid our European tastes.

Don’t know if this remodel of the MG means you can actually use the roof bars ( they were just for show) on the original model😳

I have a 2012 Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid to sell for a customer. The battery is quite small & gives a range of about 18kms when used on its own, but the 1.8 litre petrol engine cuts in when required so an 800 km run is not a problem.
Well equipped too!

Your not convincing me Mark☺

We are back in the UK and the first advert I saw on TV was for the BMW IX, wow that is one ugly car

This isn’t an advert.

BMW seem to have embraced the “big grille” fashion with gusto - personally I think they are not as attractive as the previous generation but I don’t totally hate the new look.

Expensive car though - the xDrive40 starts at just shy of £70k and the xDrive50 is nearly £92k without options (and you can put up to £17k of options on the thing plus £4k of leather and paintwork).

A lot of money!
I prefer to buy second-hand because in a few years they will be about 5 grand.
Best to buy a house instead & let someone else take the hit.

It will be interesting as time goes on to see the 2nd and 3rd hand prices. With EV’s its easy to get a battery status report so you can see what level of degradation you are buying. Much better than the guesswork of an ICE car.

This is where Kia with 7 year warranty are attractive.

Yes indeed and the cars aren’t bad either. If they could just increase the e-niros recharge capability from 50kw to 100kw it would make it very very attractive to me.
The Chinese co’s will be into Europe and UK in a year or so and their pricing will drive sales and uptake.
Not sure how Legacy makers will fair against them.

Useful list (of cars I can’t afford).
