Well it’s gota come from somewhere and solar, ground source and geothermal aren’t up to it at the moment also all the heat pumps being installed… but maybe I’ve missed something🤔
But it doesn’t makes it all right as some folks think, like all the mining that is going to destroy countries forests and land, it’s always two wrongs make a right and as usual as long as it’s not on my doorstep or country.
Once they have caught up in however long if ever in the next 30/40/50 year’s and it will all be worthwhile in the end.
The world really is a shithole state and only going to get worse, as I have said before it needed to be done now and it isn’t, the clock isn’t still ticking it’s past twelve o’clock as far as I am concerned.
There was a brilliant series Life After People, I sometimes think that that the best thing that could happen to the earth and nature is if humans could just disappear in an instant.
Biggest deposit of lithium is in the middle of a desert. Before they move to sodium ion.
This is a bit of a joke then…
If it smells like Tory bullshit…,
My shit smells wonderful ![]()

.
It isn’t just Tory bullshit
if Labour aren’t even going to meet this pledge, where is the countless billions going to come from to install all the infastructure in cities for a charger network, priceless ![]()
Labour unlikely to meet its £28bn green pledge at all
When I said that it was in reference to the allegation that the building of fossil fuelled power stations was driven by EV uptake.
The human race’s demand for electricity seems to be insatiable, & EVs certainly form a part of that. However, in the long term having a global fleet of EVs that can support grids (via the massive amount of storage that would be available whilst they spend over 90% of their lives idle) will reduce the peak demands on generating plant.
The electrical load of a heat pump is clearly higher than running a gas or oil boiler so a replacement does indeed create extra grid demand. However, if heat pumps are used instead of traditional electric heating then the load is less.
All great in theory, but in real time pie in the sky and will in reality take 30 or 40 years to happen if ever, no government has shown any real willingness to spend the money needed to put in the worldwide infastructure required and will keep on kicking the can down the road for the next government and the next government and …
Thinking of starting a campaign, “Just stop Advertising” that would reduce consumerism and you wouldnt need ad blockers. When you actually need to buy something you can research it and buy.
Also the BS advertising dept will save manufacturers a huge budget. People health issues would improve as the ads for ultra processed foods and delivery services for already obese people who dont need to get off their backsides to get their next meal are the very people who should.
I wouldn’t worry about it, it most likely won’t be ultra processed foods that will kill all those obese people you keep on going on about, climate change will take care of them long before they get old enough to die with anything to do with ill health.
One of my neighbours had an MG Marvel R on loan as he is replacing his Tesla due to it being in his words “a crap experience”, I have to say I was impressed with it, nice detailing like the door handles, styling was great as was the quality and I really liked the interior especially the main LCD screen.
It was very quick and quiet, I really liked it and I would have one, I think he is going to buy one as well.
Good, go for it ![]()
I’ll wait until they come down a bit in price on the second hand market first ![]()

If it’s a choice of spending €45k+ on a car or on the farm buildings conversions, the farm wins every time I’m afraid.
I have wasted too much money on new cars in the past to do it nowadays.
If you didn’t know it already here’s another anti-EV myth busted.
Not at the moment though
, eventually and that makes it all right then ![]()
Further info about minerals.
What would be helpful is for manufacturers to stop creating the misguided demand for cars that for many are unnecessarily big for everyday needs. SUVs I’m looking at you…
