I’d also like to see the price we’re going to pay, clearly displayed on boards, like it is for petrol etc. In the Uk you have no idea until you read the teeny, tiny info board next to the charging station and some you have to plug in before finding out.
I think that will come, apps can be helpful for that. Andy Burnham said apps will have to show the price on them for fuel but didn’t explicitly say EV as well, I was told.
I hope so, we’ve never had to use them as we charge at home, but will need to one day.
Same as with some road projects, such as the Dartford Crossing. That was supposed to be free to use after the cost of construction was paid back, but the toll was too tempting a source of revenue to give up and it has been kept and rebranded as a kind of congestion charge. On the plus side at least the crossing is free between 10pm and 6am.
Today’s trivia fact: the contract for operating the ANPR charging system on the Dartford Crossing is held by SANEF. ![]()
Yes another 270 million pound contract that was handed away, I wonder if there were any UK bidders?
Just the ACME Abacus Calculating Company of Southend. ![]()
That would explain the machine they were installing at the service station at the Total Station on the A84. in June .A credit card terminal to be to all connected to the 10 or 12 charge points, which have been present for the past 5 years
Here’s Lidl’s EV charging rates in France this week if you have their (free online signup) Lidl Plus card.
18 Euro Cents for AC
29 Euro Cents for, presumably fast chargers, DC.

The Bus Commander in Chief, I am not convinced he will ever get out of Mayor mode!
Considering what PM mode has been since Harold Wilson, that ain’t a bad thing!
If you have a Carrefour Carte Pass you can get an hour of A/C free while you shop.
Rodger ,That was the situation a year ago , Is it still true ,? Basically it was a maximum of 22kwhr , which I thought was brilliant idea ..It gives free fuel for the weekly shop for anyone within a 50 Km radius
Our local Netto has free unlimited A/C charging. It is very little used.
Yes, I just checked… “The first hour of charging is 100% cagnottée (credited as a loyalty reward balance to use on future shopping) once per day”.
I didn’t realise you had to pay and it was credited back though. That makes it a bit messy.
