My Honda has two schedule and max charge settings, one for home and one for away. Does the Renault not have that?
I have made the same mistake, cursing the charger upside down for not starting but I’d set the wrong schedule.

We received a card with 150€ credited to it when we got our car so have been using that on public chargers so far. However I tried charging at home for the first time last week… and failed at the first hurdle 
The Kia granny charger is very chunky at the end you plug into the wall, and there’s not enough gap between the socket and the floor to be able to plug it in

Ah then you are not at le Normes for your socket height.
Actually, the normes allow a minimum height from finished floor level to the centre of a socket of just 50mm

I thought under DDA regs it was 50cm? Well tis over here.
I was talking about the general normes. Not everywhere in France has to comply with the regs for disabled living.
