Facial Recognition Cameras - Yet Another Reason Not To Go Back To UK

Ah OK i now get the gist of it. My view is, if the snowflakes, libtards, millenials are offended , then tough. The police are basically handcuffed by their own masters, they cannot do the job they are supposed to do. I would not be offended by comments from a police officer if i heard them and so should’nt anyone else for that matter. Instead of pulling themselves up on comments they heard, the snowflakes, libbys etc of this world should let the police get on with their job even if it means foul language or more. Criminals dont understand velvet glove treatment.

I agree Thomas although I was meaning that the person being spoken too was swearing. Had he been in a quiet area he may not have been able to be ticketed but with members of the public around he could be

Can I also point out he wasn’t fined which would have meant a court appearance , he was given a Fixed Penalty Notice

So what are the police allowed to use in order to catch offenders?

Fixed Penalty Notice is a fine by another name.

No it isn’t

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

I’ve just watched a video of this incident and in my opinion he was not ‘disorderly’ but of course others may disagree.

According to his interview in The Metro he said -

‘Police officer’s asked me to come over so I’ve got my back up. ‘I basically told him to f*** off. I said I don’t want my face shown on anything. ‘If I want to cover my face, I’ll cover my face. ‘It’s not for them to tell me not to cover my face. ‘So now I’ve got a £90 fine. Well done.’

Sounds abusive and disorderly to me, but then I’m the sensitive type.:grinning:

Perhaps watch the video and see if you still think that. He was stopped solely for covering his face which as far as I am aware and considering how many people do is not an offence in the UK.

I watched the programme at the weekend Poppy which shows the full context rather than a short video of a disgruntled old git who openly refused to comply with what the police were trying to do.

No sympathy with him, he knew that a trial was taking place and could have simply uncovered his face when asked but chose not to.

But isn’t that the point…??? That it was a trial of currently unregulated facial recognition software…???

As far as I’m aware the man isn’t a wanted criminal or even a suspect…???

I’m not seeing what his actual “crime” was…

Fine by me

He wasn’t punished for failing to comply with the trial , he was issued an FPN for giving abuse to the police when he was spoken too

But if someone is innocent of any crime then aren’t they just standing up for their rights to go about their daily lives unhindered…???

It was a trial…of currently unregulated facial recognition software…and currently untested to any degree of accuracy…

Who says it’s unregulated?

It was nothing to to with standing up for rights. It was due to telling a bunch of coppers to foxtrot oscar in front of crowds of people. If he had said “Sorry officers but I don’t want to take part in the trail for @@@@@ reasons. “ The police may not have been happy but no offence
