Now there you go, could have a little bit of work on the side there...
I must admit it humbled me a little, we caught her up a ladder in the summer pointing the outside of the house :-)
No. 1 - what a nice neighbour you are to check in on her.
No. 2 - she sounds wonderful: great old pioneer spirit, fazed by nothing, happily enjoying the crossword in the open air. Priceless.
don't know where the rest of the message went! it read "no, just up the road in the aveyron"
where?
How kind! Thank you! Are you all from the same area...or is anyone out there in the Tarn?
@Carol.
Try a Google search for a company called "Wineworks"
This morning I called on an English neighbour in her late 70's just to make sure she was ok in this really cold -8 temperature, she was sat on the patio all wrapped up having a ciggy, coffee and doing the crossword, it really cheered me up :-)
Heh, but at least you'll be tired out and get a good night's sleep after ploughing through all we have said you ought to do. Do even a fraction of it, you'll be fit and healthy as well as happy and in serious need of a long holiday!
Gosh!
jonathan and I have slid along the road....JUST a little in our jeep and have only
been gone for 2 hours max and you are all having a forum party....throwing fun around like
nobodies buisness.
Jane great menu....WELL balanced and delicious.
Maybe one day we will cook together.
Glad to say that people seem to be thinking of the birds....we took the last bags of seeds
etc from the shelf at the supermarket.
Slow roast bellY of pork inserted with garlic slivers .....CRAKLING crakles to encourage
the sound of enjoyement...GLAZED very lightly with honey.cabbage and runner beans with roasted
pots enduring duck fat and real gravy. Home made stuffing with mushrooms, thyme, smoked bacon, parsley bread crums and butter.....seasonong.... How can anyone feel low if you have that to look foward to?
Alfalfa is wonderful for getting rid of that low feeling. You can either take tablets or eat the sprouted seeds. The former work faster and you can take up to six in one go if you feel really bad. I have seen them in the supermarket combined with nettle which is good for cleansing the blood too. Remember that alcohol is a depressant.
ça change tout...!
We are having round our neighbours (french) round for a hearty dinner.
Home made tomato soup (Barbara please note), made with the sauce from the tomatoes grown this summer.
Slow roast belly pork, with onions sage and apple, creamed potatoes, also from the garden and savoy cabbage.
Local cheese.
Almond and quince tart, the quinces from one of our neighbours (not thosde coming to dinner).
As you can see Barbara, I am feeling very well at the moment.
This cold weather kills the bugs!!!
Not a class but a friendly gathering, good for everyone including the moderator...
mdr ;-)
Hoovering the house to some punk-rock does the trick as well - but only if there's nobody else in the house!
I'm ignoring the bike since last saturday's ride; no matter what specialist winter cycling gear I put on it's just impossibly cold, (a mate even had battery warmed gloves and heated inserts in his shoes - I was extremely jealous!) I'll be doing a little work on the turbo trainer in the garage later (perhaps) and will see if next saturday is any warmer (doesn't look like it at the moment) but failing that the idea of a good walk is hard to beat. But it has to be a shower afterwards and I'll replace the port with a good banyuls ;-)
Made me laugh!!!
Any chance of a hypothetical answer?
