Feral Cats help with neutering etc

I have about 40 feral cats need help with trapping and cost of neutering etc Happy for them to be returned here and will be feed
For 20 plus years i have coped but a disabled husband etc means I need help
A lot have been dumped here sorry to say by English people

How does getting your cat neutered via the SPA work in France?

After having read an article in Le Monde about how it’s more reasonable (financially and ethically) to get your cat or dog neutered/sterilized/identified through the SPA, I was wondering if anyone had done it and if they knew of somewhere to get it done in the 64 or 40 area? I want to get my 4 month old kitten done as soon as she’s old enough as there are already too many kittens without homes out there, without her having a litter on top of it! So any advice would be very much appreciated!

Our marie runs a scheme each year in conjunction with local SPA. Sadly only enough money for the first 20(?) cats. But worth asking at your marie.

Well, you could try explaining why you feel ‘the system’ is unsatisfactory - and how you got in touch with 30 million animals?

People on this site are generally very sympathetic to any contributor’s situation, but can only help if questions or requests are posted clearly. Perhaps your situation has been misunderstood? Could you possibly clarify things?

Anyhow - best of luck and I hope all turns out well.

Edited to add: it may be wise to remove your email address from your post. Search engines regularly examine sites and will copy any email addresses that they harvest. These may then be sold on to other companies with the result that the address in question will receive unwanted emails. Just a few if they’re lucky - or millions if not …

Communes’ aid for the sterilisation of feral cats is pretty patchy and most of these ventures rely on local residents being proactive in setting up self/charity funded projects.

Are these cats really feral? It sounds like you support a colony of 40 or so cats. If you phrase it like you have here to these organizations I can see why they wouldn’t respond.

I tried to get assistance with 14 feral cats near me for a friend of a friend (it started as 7 but, well, I don’t need to elaborate), and found that all the local organisations were absolutely overwhelmed already, one offered to at least let me borrow a couple of their traps and would give my name to the local vet they work with to get some kind of subsidised rate… 20 or more attempts to get this offered help over 5 months (hence the growth from 7 to 14 ) resulted in absolutely nothing other than weak promises so I just ended up buying some traps off amazon and paying myself for them all. At least the 14 won’t increase in number anymore now, but it was a painfully expensive good deed

All I want is help with catching have cat trap and finding a vet that will do a discount price and do neutering etc before 6 months
Happy for them to stay here

They can return here
Many years of helping cat protection in UK where neuter and return is done
Also I do not have a family so a helpful organisation would in future benefit

I have mentioned all of this

Know all they are interested in is you taking an animal and a donation

Thanks am having another go but explained it in understandable French I understand the problems they want to re-home what they have and get donations
And from what I have found out the system does not allow them to give money to help, if I was a tax payer I could at end of year claim some back but do not have enough income so need organisation that is happy to bend the rules
To be honest in the interests of them might go some way to reducing problem other than what is done here drown them

Ok Maire, 30 m animals SPA, Les Amis des Chat they where as helpful as they could be, Hope, Phoenix Assoc in past have taken animals from them but times change and when they put my name and address on site I got lots dumped
Through Les Amis I have a lot of places to contact and am but not hopeful
Here it does not work seems they are only interest in you taking animal or giving money not working on the problem Cat Protection and others in uk do neuter and return to try and stop problem getting worse
Best to do as locals do drown them
