Hi everyone - does anyone have any interesting views/anecdotes on the subject of festivals and balls in France. The smallest villages and hamlets appear to have one or two regular ‘fetes’ as well as the towns and cities, usually during the summer, and I’m looking to find out more behind their significance in the French social calendar, why the locals hold to them so dearly, how they benefit tourism, why do they work, what different from UK approach to a local get-together. It’s for an article I’m writing, so let me know if you’re happy to be quoted, or if just for background assistance. Any views would be very welcome. Cheers, Kate
