Hi all. Recent US expat to France. Has anyone been able to find a virtual mailbox and domestic shipping service like Anytime Mailbox in Nice? I’m living here full time but travel a lot and need a way to monitor mail and a secure place to receive Amazon shipments and such.
I found services in Paris but that’s impractical as I don’t want the administrative confusion or pickup inconvenience of having an address 400 miles from where I actually live. I found some virtual office services but that seems problematic with not really having nor wanting to appear asif I have a business here. Perhaps some kind of ‘club’ category?

I’m not an expert on this by any means but my understanding is that your local LaPoste distribution centre will hold mail/parcels for you during absence. Have you tried asking the local Post Office about their services? If not, it might be worth a try.
I understand also that you can request a real mailbox located at the central depot, which you can empty when you are home. At least they certainly exist around here (Normandy).

I guess it’s just the modern version of the old Poste Restante. I used that years ago travelling around France and would arrive in a city and just pick up my post.
I suggest you contact one of the American Expat Groups active locally as many others will have had this problem and highly likely they will know the options locally. Around Nice there’s at least one or two groups and there must be other groups in different areas.
