Hi everyone! I’ve been living in France for a while now, and as many of you know, finding a reliable handyman or someone to help with a small furniture move can be a nightmare here, especially if you don’t speak perfect French yet.
I recently stumbled upon a platform called <redacted> while planning a relocation from Denmark (they also do international moves), and I was surprised to see they are now active in France too. What I liked is that it works like a marketplace — you post a task (like ‘fixing a shelf’ or ‘moving a sofa’), and you get offers from different service providers. It’s much cheaper than hiring a big professional moving company and way more transparent.
Has anyone else here used them for local tasks in France? I’m curious if their handyman network is already big in regions outside of Paris. It seems like a great ‘all-in-one’ tool for us expats when we need help with home renovation or logistics.
There is a pic of a young lady who looks remarkably like the avatar pic of Kesnia plastered all over the FB pages of the service that she mentioned. Plus her own FB page says she lives in Kyiv, plus her posts are coming from Kyiv (though Véro probably didn’t pick that up).
Anyway @Ksenia_Leshchenko if you have a genuine connection to France and wish to share your experiences and love of the country you will be very welcome here. If you have just come by to drop an SEO link please accept our apologies but we frown on that when we spot it (which is more often the case than not).
I looked her up online, and she was on linkedin, and although it was in Ukrainian I could decipher the transparent words, and her avatar is the same. I didn’t see that the posts were coming from Kyiv and hadn’t looked to see where they were coming from. I hadn’t looked on FB but it would have been my next try.
Has anyone tried AlloVoisins in their area? We need to find a one or two cleaners for the day after we move out, and a local cleaning firm quoted over €1000 so am looking for alternatives!!
Be careful, I found an English woman about half an hour away from where I live who is a registered cleaner last summer and she did a rubbish job and much much worse, is a thief. I checked her out online etc. but think the woman who came to clean may have usurped a legit businesswoman’s identity. Unfortunately realised too late to do anything about it as I was off to Germany and then Australia.
