I always enjoyed the fact that for a long time Frank Beard was the only member of ZZ Top who didn’t have a beard.

Sad, always loved them. In fact whilst I was at the Grand Ole Opry one evening last year, Billy Gibbons popped up and played with the Del McCoury band and although it was not rock music, his mastery of the electric guitar was brilliant and fitted right in with the C&W instruments and the backing band. I have some phone videos of the act which I enjoy watching over again

I got let off a speeding ticket years ago as I blamed my excess and exuberance on the ZZ top cassette I was playing. I offered the cassette to the officer and said that should stop the problem, he laughed, accepted the tape and let me off. Well done Norbury police!

Possibly around the same time I was driving around with a cassette holding various songs in the car including Sharp Dressed Man, and when that started my right foot inevitably went down as a spontaneous reaction.
