Have any of your kids been taught by a teacher who follows this teaching method here in France?
Our school has a new maitresse - she follows the Freinet method. It is a bit of a revelation for me as, until she joined, I had perhaps naively assumed that all teachers would follow the same teaching route in the public schools. She is, for me, a breath of fresh air. She is extremely warm and enthusiastic and encourages the kids to think outside of the box.
Sadly, it seems that a majority of the other parents, all of whom are French, think she is "nul" because she doesn't give the kids masses of homework and perhaps because the kids are going home and saying we did that and that today which differs from what they are used to.
Just curious if anyone else out there has had experience of this.
