There are 2 dates on your licence. One is for when the photo runs out. (4b by memory, but long time since saw UK licence) and one when licence itself runs out (11?).
Driving without an up to date photo is a misdemeanour that is a 35€ fine. Driving with an expired licence is a serious offence.
