Does anyone know if the apostille on the birth certificate also needs to be translated to French for CPAM? The birth certificate and the apostille are in English.
Why not ask them?
Their own guidance indicates that there is variability and to ask your caisse (CPAM, MSA, etc). And if certificate needs translating then apostille will as well as it is ‘part’ of the certificate. A long time ago, but I seem to recall that for CPAM we just translated everything ourselves and made it look as official as possible, rather than using a traducteur assermenté.

Like notarisation documents, they are usually translated.
Neither mine (english) nor my wife’s (afrikaans) needed translating for CPAM , nor indeed for anything else so far.
I thought English was an EU language thanks to Ireland still being in the EU - does that not mean official documents in English should be accepted by any European country?
doubtless someone will come up with the “official” answer, but I think each country can make its own adjustments to EU general stuff…
Certainly, when we came to France years ago… it was explained to me that all foreign documents needed to be translated into French… because French is the official language of this country and that any time in the future… a French person checking through the records should be able to understand the documents contained therein (rather than perhaps hazarding a guess and getting it wrong…)
