Usually education at home is done via the CNED and you pay for it, it is the state distance learning programme - and you might have trouble being seen as really wanting to be French by arguing someone is French and coming to France to discover/assert/benefit from their Frenchness and yet staying at home not participating in French society but (shock horror) doing online (inferior naturally) foreign lessons which wonât lead to any French qualifications, or help them become a French teenager and theoretically useful member of society. School is all about culture in the wider sense and we always suspect people are dodgy if they donât participate in that process.
It may sound harsh and judgmental but thatâs French civil servants for you. We think you canât cherrypick being French.
