Since moving to France we haven’t bothered with TV. However, 10 years on, fibre is arriving ! The only packages I’ve seen so far include TV (and are still cheaper than what we already pay for phone and broadband). Excuse my ignorance, is it possible to watch the channels provided with the package on a PC, or would we need to buy a French TV ?
You’ll usually get a set top box with HDMI output - you could watch on a PC monitor (assuming it has speakers) or UK TV.

It should work without being an Orange customer for the channels that don’t have a shopping basket icon. The others will require you to be a customer and have the relevant “bouquet”.

If you have a TV using Android, you don’t need any TV box, just use the apps for each TV channel, e.g. France Televisions (which includes all their channels), My TF1 (which includes all their channels), and if you use a VPN you can get BBC iPlayer etc.
Also apps like Molotov for French TV stuff, but a lot of that is not free.

We have a bouquet allemand, but we can’t watch these channels on a PC. That’s not right, is it? But c’est comme ça (can’t find a shrug emoji)
I’ve noticed that too, but fibre still isn’t available in my area so we have Orange ADSL (not fibre) and no TV.
However, we found last year that our ADSL package actually includes TV at no extra charge (they do have to give you a decoder box though). We plugged everything in and attached a spare monitor we happened to have. Works a treat. We did need to plug in some extra speakers as well though because of my hearing difficulties.

Some of the offers on tv packages are limited to certain devices. Often you pay an additional subscription for additional devices I.e. mobiles, pads and via pc.

Some channels have there own applications from which you can access past programs. For example “6play” gets you “Arte” programs and I think “France 3” have something similar.
