Its incredible she was hit like that out of a big sky. Think I would have died on the spot, snakes are one of my biggest fears.
Me too ! Makes me think of Conan Doyle’s ‘The Adventure of the Speckled Band’. I’ve been listening to it on librivox - a source of free public domain audio books read by volunteers.

I am sympathetic to the lady in the story, but I also couldn’t help from laughing a little imagining a snake wrapping itself around the arm, launching itself at her face (saved by her glasses), as she’s flailing her arms around screaming help me Jesus, and then the bird of prey launching itself at the snake/her arm! What are the odds? (Yes, I’m going to hell).
