Nice weather this morning, I erected the poly tunnel, I’ll be putting young plants to grow on in a couple of weeks
We have a lovely big polytunnel from a company that does heavy duty industrial ones as well as garden ones for ordinary people. We had one in the UK on a very exposed site and it never moved or got damaged in storms. The only problem is that the one here is still packed after nearly 10 years and increasing age (ours) is making the task of erecting it more and more daunting. Any positive vibes sent in our direction will be much appreciated ![]()
Here’s sending you oodles of positive vibes and thoughts. Like Rome, you don’t have to build it in a day, you could ask one or two of your builders to do it for a few euros or look in the local paper you’ll probably find plenty of people looking for odd jobs type gardening service à la personne.
Mine’s a cheapo off LBC for 95€. I’m looking for another this time with aluminum frame and poly carbonate panels.
Here’s more positive vibes ![]()

Thank you @Wozza . I’m working on not being daunted ![]()
Just take your time, Rome wasn’t built in a day ![]()
Well our garden certain wasn’t! 34 years later and going backwards ![]()
However, onwards and upwards…
Yes thanks I did post and said that I would update on how they turn out![]()
I thought I’d posted / sent you a message but was clearly having a brain fart. No change there then….
Anyway I am SOOO sorry about that but yes, they arrived super fast and have been grafted and Monsieur is very happy with his ‘exotic’ English variety. I’ll keep you posted on progress! And thank you so much again xxx
Good to know they got there
Unfortunately I am a bit out of my depth online so must ask for your assistance again.
An early teenage relative in the UK set up my pad and somehow it seems to delete posts after X days or whatever to save space he tells me.
I said that I would send a few euros to the site and I know a lady contacted me but her email appears to have gone the way of all flesh which leaves me scuppered.
If you would be good enough to get her to contact me I will fulfill my obligation.
Kind regards
Pat
No problem I would imagine Cat would have sent you a private message, to find it click on your avatar and then on the envelope, you will find any private messages that are on the server they’re not on your devices you can send private messages from there too. I’ve just linked @cat to flag her to this exchange.
I’ve stuck some scions in the ground to see if they take. If yours don’t this year let me know and I’ll send some more next year.
We are already eating your Bazoches @Wozza, the artichokes are ready to go outside where they can look after themselves but do you have any tips for growing on the leeks which are 5 to 10 Cms already.
Leeks I sow in deep pots, shop bought compost and I add some fish blood and bone to the mix, if you think they are starting to look a bit sorry, and in small/shallow pots, pot them on into a larger deeper pot 6-7" with some fish B&B. Artichokes water well for the first 3 weeks. Great news on Bazoches front ![]()
Edit. If they’re looking fine and in deep enough pots let them get on with it.
I’ll doing a second sowing this week.
Can you get the F, B and B in France?
Yes, but a bit like those silly measures they use here they call it something different![]()
Corne broyé et sang séchée / desséché
Thanks @Wozza . I’ll know what to look for now.
Added to my shopping list. Many thanks for advice
Unfortunately, our silly little poodle’s rather fond of that, so I have to dig it in rather than sprinkle on top.
