GRAPPA da VINACCE di Chardonnay

I have an old, unopened bottle of this “Product of Italy”…
La Valdotaine, Saint Marcel - Valle d’Aosta
50cl 40% proof.

Is this good for a “nip” or better “softened” by adding dried prunes (or apricots) for a few months… and using the resulting gunge over icecream (for grownups) ???

No idea if that one is good, but I very much enjoy a grappa.

At 40% I’m wondering if it grabs the back of the throat (ie harsh) ??? or gently “knocks you out” momentarily

Very much like Marc de Bourgogne

Try it and see! Grappa can be smooth and silky or it can cauterise the back of your eyeballs as you drink it, you never know :slightly_smiling_face:

I have no wish to open it just to taste it. I was hoping someone would have some experience of this stuff.

I’ll ask around, see if someone knows it and wants it.

If all else fails, we’ll risk it and open it… hic

Opening it won’t do it any harm :slightly_smiling_face:

Send it to me. I’ll happily taste it on your behalf and send a detailed assessment.
