Another legend passes away. RIP

I still listen to “Hogwash” - one of my favourite albums.

Was lucky enough to see them in my youth at Slough Community Centre.

I saw Tony McPhee and the Groudhoggs at the Half Moon in Putney in the mid 80’s, My ears are still ringing……

I was at Bradford University in 1975 when they played there. We’d been warned that they could be ‘difficult’ with a desire to play very, very loudly. We connected their PA power to a circuit controlled by the lighting board and the louder they got, the more we reduced the voltage. They became very, very, very cross.

My first gig, my first experience of tinnitus and the first time we had to call a mates father to get us home due to our own incompetence. I was 15. I’d probably do it all again though!

Yep. One of the regulars in the back rooms of London pubs and college refectories in the late '60s/early '70s.

Red Lion at Leytonstone, c 1970. Trying to remember but I think I went to see Mayall and the Groundhogs were on the bill.
