Prince Harry and his wife are coming back to the UK.
I hope they manage to bury the hatchet.
It would be nice if the nasty end of the Press left them alone, but I suppose there’s little chance of that.

I wonder how many stories of being wronged they will have to sell to help cover Harry’s legal costs in the failed attempt to use the papers for hacking. No, I’ve not got any sympathy.

Since they are expert at stirring up the press for their own ends then I very much doubt that they won’t generate coverage. I feel sorry for Harry having such a media obsessed wife, and doubt it’s what he needs coming up to 30th anniversary of his mother’s death.
I assume their stars had faded in the US, so no longer top dogs. Shame as so much better if they’s stayed there.

I do think Harry is an idiot, and too influenced by his wife.
I dread to think how I’d have behaved in his position.
Nah, he’ll pay from his petty cash tin. But yes, the endless stories and whinging will be legion, boring evrryone into oblivion.
Now here’s a thought.
What if Harry knows something, or believes that he does, about His Majesty’s state of health that we do not. Could it be that Harry is returning to the UK in order to re-establish himself in good old blighty before his brother takes the throne and banishes Harry from the Kingdom ?

I cannot fathom them out. They left because they wanted privacy and what do they do in the US?, they appear in public or on social media as much as they can to promote themselves. I thought privacy meant you wanted to be incognito, not be recognised and not have the press camped outside your gaff. Now they will be doing the same back in Blighty, that woman cannot bear to be hidden away or kept quiet. Willy is said to be seething they say. Another report reckons they are coming back because the king is more ill than is let on and they want to spend some last time with him, that would make more sense if true

Harry is lost and Megan is very determined, but also the product of her times. They both have difficult relationships with their families.
If they had normal friends, friends they’d given the right to be honest with them, things might have been different.

I get the impression that honesty isn’t appreciated. One of the recent articles said that Harry told staff to hide any negative articles about Meghan because if she read them, she would have a tantrum.
It seems she could be appearing in Netflix’s The Gentlemen, with Guy Ritchie directing. I suppose being married to Madonna might have educated him on how to handle tantrums, or it could be quite a short-lived return for Whinge.

I have heard that part of the reason for the move is a potential problem with Harry’s US residence visa renewal - apparently one of the questions they ask is “have you ever taken illegal drugs?”, and in his book “Spare” he admitted having done so.
Hence to avoid awkward questions and a possible residence permit refusal they are relocating to the UK.
How much truth there is in this, of course I don’t know. There may well be multiple reasons.
I agree with those above who have commented that they are a mixed-up pair whose actual behaviour does not square with their asserted reasons for moving to the US.

Re entry into the US: there are rules, but they seem to be ignored as much as be upheld.
One Yaxley-Lennon, convicted drug dealer, violent criminal, fraudster, and illegal immigrant was allowed into the US in Feb this year.

Of course we may only speculate, especially since said couple reserve all information for their inevitable upcoming paid interview/article/tome. That said, the reasons are probably several.
None of their commercial projects undertaken in US have been a great financial success. Costs a lot to maintain a lifestyle in sunny California.
Becoming less popular while being whiny and social has-beens resulting in being ostracised by Americans with actual power and money.
Son of the King of England has currency in UK. Anonimity, which the couple never actually craved or practiced, is only fun if you enjoy being invisible.
Mrs Windsor can return to salaried work Apparently, Guy Ritchie has offered her a part in his next Gentlemen series.
Private security will be paid by British government (tax payers) if they reside in UK. Has to be because if anything happened to them on British soil it would be a catastrophe.
Children spouting American English must be amended.
I expect there are more but as I see it, there really is no choice

I had understood that UK gov’t have categorically refused to pay for their security as non- working royals.

The latest - heard in the last couple of days - is Burnham declining to discuss the matter, which made me wonder if a change is on the cards.
Though it might be that the PM would not normally discuss such things.
The couple’s net worth is said to be about $60 million - so about £44 million - forking out £5-6 million won’t give him too many worries where the next crust is coming from but neither is it going to be chump change.
I don’t think William actually has the power to do that.
I think they are going to have to live with the fact that they are “famous for being well known” - at that there will be some media interest. To be fair to Harry I think anyone hounded as much as he was before he left would get a bit fed up with it.
There was a BBC article on this. However merely recounting the experience does not appear to meet the legal requirement of “proof” - a conviction or police caution is more like what is needed.
That was just for a visit, not residency - but, yes, immigration officials have a lot of discretion.

I hope that he can mend bridges with his father and brother. Family feuds are hell for all concerned and cutting the children off from their grandfather and uncle through no fault of their own sucks as well.

Schooling may also come into the equation.
End of the day, do we really care? If there were no newspapers, media, social media and any other way of reaching to the public, no one would know anything about them nor care.
