Have you been pwned?

Interesting site to see if your email address (and other details) has been part of a data breach.

How to judge that this isn’t a phishing scam: I enter my email address in the box and wham, bam, thank you ma’am I’m on a dusty shelf in a back-street ‘uncle’ s’ with a ticket round my neck, waiting hopelessly to be redeemed…?

I checked it out with Snopes first…

Will check out Snopes, Stella, I’m obviously behind the curve of internet nouse, and thanks for bringing me up to speed (on my penny-farthing )!

I like Snopes… it helps me sort out the true stories/claims… from the fake/spam stuff…

Other similar websites are available…

Hi Paul… I like wiki… but their disclaimer makes it quite clear… their info is only as good as the folk who do the inputting…

and that applies to all and every entry…

One needs to remember that free stuff is sometimes worth every penny that you paid for it.

Absolutely… I pay for very little… and certainly not info on the web…

Wiki is very, very interesting… but… it does have its limitations and is open about this aspect…
