I hope someone can help, My brother works for himself, is registered and pays his tax, He did some work for someone and they wont pay, What can do do. Its only a small business only him. It took him a while to do this work and turned other work down yo do it.

Thanks John, yes its for 3000 my brother has given a breakdown of the work done and has tried to talk to him and he wasnt happy with a couple of things, so my brother has offered to put these right although they are right, he is nit picking, the other person runs a business, but he has refused to have them put right to his satisfaction… i dont know about emails. But he wont let my brother correct anything.

Did they sign anything or send an email to you agreeing to the work? Did they pay a deposit? Is it for a large sum of money? Are they running a business too?
These are the things to consider before taking action. Have you tried negotiating, finding out what is the problem can often unblock a sticky situation. Get someone else to call them to ask what the problem was.
There are plenty of companies to 'chase' this money up in France but try to sort it out before it gets to that. For a bailiff it costs generally around 430€ that you have to pay up front but is recoverable from the other party.
