Help Needed: Students Waiting for Refunds from Aura Lyon Universi

Visa refused.

In the video at about 2-30 one Moksh Bali is talking. He appears to be here, in Lyon, on Linked-In https://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/Moksh/Bali

I am not on Linkedin, but maybe @Unknown could try reaching out to him?

Which is the reason I asked Jane. Maybe the T&Cs say that procuring a visa is the responsibility of the student and if they do not succeed then the fees are forfeited.

Why should a school reserve a place and then loose the fees when through no fault of the school the student cannot take it up? It’s the sort of clause I’d include in an agreement. How else would one plan capacity and revenue?

The OP is all over the place, the number of separate threads proves this. I stumbles across another just now.

All we have a are bits and pieces of the story. What they need to do is write out a concise history, with attachments, ie contracts, communications, etc. which they should use to contact all parties they are seeking help from. Their embassy, their ministry of foreign affaires, their ministry of education, the French authorities, French legal representation, etc. Even us if we are to be able to give accurate and valuable advice.

Otherwise , much as I sympathise with their plight, if they are not willing to do that it’s all just a waste of time.

Roger, I think some responsibility lies with the agents in the would-be students’ home countries, but of course I don’t know what the laws are in the various places. One assumes there are introducer fees from Aura, unless the agents are just concentrating on visas.

I think you may be overlooking that English is unlikely to be his first language, and is also unlikely to have experience of European processes.

But I’d still like a yes or no answer as to whether they have sent a formal LRAR and mise en demeure.

I looked at the organisation’s website. One of the requirements for applicants is a proficiency in English: Admissions – Aura.

Looking at it only briefly, it seems obvious that the website mimics those of established organisations. “Graduates of this program [BBA] possess the versatility to pursue enriching career opportunities in esteemed establishments, including 5 or 4-star hotels, Speciality Restaurants, Retail Food Outlets, Fast Foods, Cruise Liner Ships, and Airlines.” For which fees in excess of 10.000 € are paid. Not worth it for the possibility of a job at McDo; a different matter if you managed to obtain a visa on the basis of a place.

Doubtless the Ministry of the Interior is aware of Aura’s quality and reputation.

I have taken that into account Jane, and his youth, inexperience and understandable mental stress.

My point is he needs a disciplined, logical approach to solving this issue if he is to succeed.

If I was in his shoes (and goodness knows I’ve fought and won many battles with this formula) the first thing I would do is document the situation so that if a hypothetical judge were to read it (and indeed one may do so in due course) they would clearly understand the background, understand the current situation, understand the actions I have taken to solve or mitigate the problem, understand the failings of the other party and finally understand what end result I am seeking.

I’ve had companies just roll over when they’ve read what my documented position is. It was just easier for them.

I’m sure others have their own methods for getting satisfaction in tricky circumstances, but all I can do s advise what works for me. I’m back in this damn process again with case of the stranded i4

And this sort of detailed logical structured drafted submission is exactly what the French authorities who may be able to help, eg Signal Conso / DGCRF, will require to receive before they will accept an application for help.

If the Original Poster wishes to upload the documents and correspondence he has sent so far to the school and to the French authorities I am sure there are a lot of people here who would make useful suggestions if what has been sent has followed correct procedure but does not seem to be working.

Absolutely. Once he has documented everything he should cast his net far and wide pursue every channel he can.

There’s the school, the school’s officers via linkedIn, any publications or websites that promote the school, the Agent, if there is one, the French authorities, including consumer protection and regulatory bodies, his Embassy AND his minister foreign affairs equivalent and his minister for education, his local and national press and goodness knows who else. Build the case, blast it out and see who bites :slightly_smiling_face:

But in French though? Maybe a difficulty?

There are online translation sites that aren’t too bad.

I doubt you could ever be in his shoes because of your age and cultural differences. We have no idea how old these students are, but do you have a lot of contact with Millennials? Let alone Gen Z. I am frequently quite amazed at how different their thinking processes are, much comes from growing up with the internet it seems.

But sometimes I’ve found that they do follow a similar path, but describe it very differently and go A -C -D - B rather that the ABCD that I would. It’s all quite fascinating,

The original poster and others similarly affected seem to have posted on numerous anglo forum sites

Have they? Which ones please?

expatforum.com for one

That about thought patterns sounds very interesting.

Could you give an example of ACDB vs ABCD you’ve come across?

was fairly obvious they would be though.

Unfortunately making noise is not going to help until it’s all organised and documented to the level Signal Conso / DGCRF would require in order to take up the case anyway.

Deeple is your friend David.

I can understand that in affairs of the heart or emotional matters but when it comes to problem solving, that’s just irrational in my book. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: My daughter was born in 1990, I’m not sure in what bucket she and her pals are classified, but I’ve watched them all grow up. They were probably the first internet generation and their problem solving skills are just like ours, logical. Some more than others certainly, but their methods, professionally at least, are based on working through the issue, not bouncing around it. I don’t ever want to meet a doctor, or an architect or engineer who thinks A-C-D-B. Therein lies unnecessary amputations, building collapses and airframe failures

Trump sounds like a A-C-D-B man to me.

Trump is A - A - dammit - A A A

Those complaining seemed to expect someone else to solve the problem, rather than use the information to solve it themselves. Is that a generation xyz thing?
