Over the last 24 hours I’ve had a couple of emails bounce - one here in France which was a reply to theirs. The other to the UK.
In each case I’ve had this message:
This is the mail system at host opmta1mto26nd1.orange.fr.
I’m sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients.
It’s not all the time - I’ve sent emails to other people at / about the same time and in fact the one rejected within France was also copied to 2 other people.
Any suggestions please? Is there anything I can do to prevent this happening?
Thanks for any ideas/thoughts.
Looks like that is the key - presumably the spam filter at lineone.net saw something it did not like
Other than try emailing “postmaster@lineone.net” to see if they can determine why, or reviewing the message to see if it looks at all suspicious (obviously inadvertent if so) I’m not sure there’s much you can do.
Ah, knew that was familiar - LineOne as was is now TalkTalk (hence the TT992 code) - a big of googling suggests it is indeed their spam filter that is sticking its oar in - some users have found that the mail does go through after a delay.
Thanks Billy. This was my message (obviously very suspect)
Hello XX and XX, so sorry to hear about your ongoing health issues. Here’s hoping the treatments bring relief and improvement for you both. We’ll miss you at photo club and do hope that you both will be able to return in the future.
Glad you enjoyed the exhibition. (Thanks for letting us know.) And thank you for the praise.
Enjoy the coming weeks. Our Indian Summer here can be so special.
Very best wishes Sue
Interestingly, I sent it via my gmail account and no evidence that it’s been bounced. Strange.
Seriously - health, treatment and relief strike me as words which could trigger a spam filter.
It’s possible that email originating from gmail gets scored more leniently - I don’t think scammers/spamers use it much as it is hard to send millions of emails using gmail/
