Help with CAF stopping my RSA

Hello. i came to france in 2020 as an auto entrepreneur to run a rented restaurant. After 4 long hard years due to useless landlord, I had to quit as there were just so many problems that he wouldnt fix and a solicitor said it will cost thousands of euros and a long time to rectify and even then i may end up with no recompense. I started receiving RSA in Jan 2024, but this month it has stopped beause i stupidly didnt declare my resources in 2023 to ursaaf, I have no income, i am ill md am scared to death of the imminent homelessness. Im contesting the debt and wondering what other options i have for help. Ive lost everything because of an unscrupulous british landlord. Thank you in advance for any advice,

Hello @skodarobbie and welcome to the forum.

Have you spoken with someone at your Mairie… they generally know the correct paths to follow to get things sorted out… and how to point you in the direction of those Associations etc who might be able to assist you.

best of luck

There is the fonds de solidarité pour le lodgement, which can give financial help for rent. You apply via your assistante sociale, so first step would be to get an appointment with them.

Here’s the details

Go and see someone at the local CAF office as they are the ones who pay your RSA. I received a payment for ten years and had to scrupoulously do a declaration every three months to them in order to receive the payment which was only a top up to my other income. Yes, if you don’t comply, they will stop payments immediately and its very hard to get back in so face to face and explain your situation, don’t try doing emails either. The AS can help you too with contacting them.
