Helpful Tips

(Kathryn Dobson) #1

I thought it would be useful to start a list of helpful tips specific to doing business in France where we can help each other out and hopefully save some time!

To kick it off, I was searching for a way to download a CSV file into excel which conserved all the accents (otherwise the address data would be pretty much useless) and found this great blog post which makes it all very easy:

What tips & short cuts have you found recently?

If you need an AE facture template then this one has all the necessary parts and can be modified with excel (and is free to download!).

I found this when needing to sort out my TVA - it’s actually for VAT in the UK but you can change the numbers/percentages so it works for French TVA too: http://www.crazysquirrel.com/finance/vat-calculator.jspx

If you are looking to buy an existing business in France then check out http://www.bosstoboss.fr which launched last year. You can search by region, industry etc.
