This has been a concern with every piece of Huawei cellular infrastructure ever.
If you’re going to buy equipment that connects to key systems from a potential adversary, you’d best have your smart kids going over every single component and every single line of code.

And the US, trident for example?
I think we must assume that all nations will have done this, and look for ways to mitigate potential external control.
I’ve not forgotten the lesson involving pagers that Israel showed us.
