I posted my mums home here in France for a home swap (for holiday), and she had loads of interest. So we started a small Facebook group, where members can arrange home swaps. Was supposed to just be within France only, but we’ve now members from all over the world asking for swaps in France! If anyone likes the idea and wants to join, let me know

It’s a free Facebook community where homeowners connect and arrange swaps directly with each other, so there’s no insurance or formal protection through the group itself. We started a week ago and have 150 members already. I would post the link so you could take a look, but I don’t think that’s allowed here?

I like the idea of swapping but without some protections I can’t see it working for us.

Yeah I completely understand. From what I understand, home insurance can actually cover home exchanges too, depending on the policy. I think it’s just a case of both sides checking with their insurers beforehand.
