Hoovering Flies

As mentioned in another thread I solved the problem of the large congregation of flies in the kitchen window each late afternoon by fetching the vacuum cleaner and sucking them in.

Strange thing was though that when I emptied it outside there were no signs of flies dead or alive. They weren’t still in the house. A mystery.

Anyway, successful as it was it is a bit of a pain lugging the cleaner and plugging it in each time so I ordered a hand held vacuum designed for the interior of cars. It arrived yesterday and, as I had to go out, had a brief read of the instructions and put it on charge by plugging it into the computer.

On my return and of course to the next wave of flies I tried it out. Not quite as powerful as the mains one it nevertheless was very successful and soon they were all gone. Just needs a specific technique, creeping up on them from below rather than a full on stab.

This time though I could see the flies in side and let them all go outside. I’m sure I heard one say to another 'just nip round to the other side of the house ‘cos he’s left the window open there and we can get back in.’ Thankfully, nobody took any notice and the rest of the evening was relativly fly free. :joy:

My typing is getting bad and my eyesight worse.

I put it down to a fly in the eye.

You need a little hoover.

I’ve actually got one - I use it for cleaning cameras and my computer keyboard.

Must test it on flies (or files) at some stage.

They shout - we need get out of here or we’ll dysoon.
I’ll get my coat.

So you should, The very expensive Dyson we bought years ago is rightly outside out of use replaced by the little Koenig I bought at the direction of the cleaning lady we had as part of Fran’s health assistance. :joy:

If it’s a battery death, Dyson will provide a replacement battery. We replaced one not long ago and our vacuum from 2013 is running (and inhaling) wonderfully.

No a mains type. Never did like it, too heavy and cumbersome and not as good as they made out, plus they refused to sell to me in France at the time. A helpful phone person there said that she wasn’t supposed to say this but I could get it cheaper from Amazon FR. So although I became anti-Dyson (Brexit etc) I am grateful for the introduction to the big A. :grinning:

Now I’m just anti-Bezos, but trying to ignore that.

Shark required. Pet version evidently
