Just discovered some small pots with horseradish root in them. They look alive, so if anyone wants a chunk to plant PM your address.
(I have a big pot which is enough for us)

The ones you gave me a few years back survived being concreted over by our builders, who’d put their cement mixer on top of the patch, and are flourishing again.
I freeze the roots (like ginger) and grate as needed.
Thanks!
That’s a generous offer. We have tried to get our horseradish to grow, but it just will not, back in uk it would spread like wildfire, but it obviously doesn’t like the french soil.
Perhaps you were pampering it too much?
We just planted it and left alone, no joy after 6 years
I’d previously had no joy with some from a garden in Provence, so maybe you need some of @JaneJones’ stuff!
Thank you, good idea
Yes, love to have some
Many thanks for your kind offer but I already have some
All gone now until next year.
I would love some please!
Will send address!
Xx
Mine arrived in the post this morning, many thanks Jane
Thank you Jane postie has just delivered ours, many thanks.
Bought my horseradish root from Amazon, it came from Poland. Just a small bit of root in a small packet. It grew amazingly quickly and profusely and generated large amounts of root in it’s first year, much of which I processed and froze. I had to dig it completely out after that as it was getting so big and spreading too far.
I keep mine in a big very deep pot. Produces enough for us - and to hand on! Either that or a corner that would otherwise be unused as it is a thug.
Chag Pesach Sameach for Saturday, and next year you can pop some raw horseradish on your plate which symbolises the bitterness of slavery (Pesach is about the exodus and escape of Jews from Egypt).
