Planning a trip to Paris for a few days
and would ideally like to find a nice hotel close to an RER station on the western/south western outskirts of the city so that I can drive there without having to take the car into Paris itself. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Hope this is before the JO as everything is full in and around Paris, for thrice the price.
I personally would look for a chambres d’hôtes, near one of the stations like Antony or Robinson rather than a hotel as half the price amd usually much nicer. Like this, but one with parking

Was going to suggest something similar, e.g. Palaiseau, out on the RER B.
Saint-Germain-en-Laye is rather lovely for a couple of days and is at the end of RER A. Though the line is closed for works from 8-12 May.
