Housework and tax credits

Hello all. My husband is very poorly at the moment and I am going to need help with housework. I will be using ADSAD and getting a 50% credit d’impôt. For our gardener we have UNIPROS and get the 50% credit up front. Does anyone know if the housework credit is the same or do you have to wait for the next tax year?

ADSAD is an agency I believe? So you will receive an attestation at the end of the year to declare with your taxes. You can ask if they will operate via CESU+ or equivalent to get the credit impôt immediately but I think unlikely.

Under UNIPROS the gardener is operating this way as it is a collective of individual people, not an agency.

Hi EmilyA, sorry your husband is poorly. It makes for stressful times. Trust me I know. I hope he gets better soon. Do you feel he is getting good care?
When we had gardenning work 50% was re-imbursed through credit d’impots & it only happened the following year after we declared it the year work was done. I would like to know more about what ADSAD is?
I can’t answer your question as such but I thoight you might like to know, we’ve just been approved for housework (and more), and it is going to cost us 92 cents per hour. That’s through APA. Now, it is income related (not wealth). Have you looked into it? I am no expert, just going through stages as we need more help. Careful it’s not ASPA, that’s very different. Bonus: they can have English staff! That will be good for hubby as I asked for part of the time to be used to keep company to him, chat, garden, play etc… as he is so socially isolated having dementia.

Thank you both. I suspect it will be in the next tax year. He has a long-term illness and fractured vertebrae so it is all pretty intense at the moment.

Have you been in touch with your Assistante Sociale who will be able to help you access the care packages like APA?

It’s worth looking into if you haven’t already as sounds as if you need all the help you can get.

Thank you. We have SIAD for daily care and nurses for post-operative care and I have an occupational therapist visit booked. I will also contact the assistant social though.

Just seen an article about credit impôts for gardeners, cleaners, nousnous and others in that the employer will have to disclose more information about these employees on their tax return this year and exactly what they do.

Excuse me Shiba, but what is a nousnous please?

The nearest I can come to is a sort of treasured bit of old clothing or doll that babies like to snuggle.

some words have many, varying meanings depending on context.

In my opinion, as the talk is about Tax Credits… nounous refers to “nanny/childminder” that sort of thing and the costs involved.

That’s a nounours. Easily confused!

Not sure a beaten up blanket or teddy qualifies for tax credits!

As far as the tax is concerned, the tax form this year had a section for the gardener with (iirc) a dropdown list to select the type of work done. We continue to get 50% of the total deducted at the time of payment under the Unipros scheme.
For ADSAD and our cleaner we cannot use the immediate deduction because my husband now has a disability rating under the APA (Allocations Personnes Agées) scheme). Once you have that grant as a percentage of the cost the rest has to be a credit d’impôt of 50% in the next tax year.
It took a while to get my head round it!
