How good a job has Bojo and his team done so far

IMO the reason Russia uses social media to interfere in other countries domestic affairs is simply because it can. This leads me to believe that any country that can, is. It’s just a question of degree. Not only are foreign actors spreading lies and misinformation, so are local politicians like Trump and Johnson.

As long as social platforms (and cyber weapons, eg NSO Group) are unregulated this will only get worse. An Orwellian future awaits our children.

But this goes back to Cameron’s day and he didn’t want Brexit. So it seems that we are talking about incompetence as well as conspiracy.

He shouldn’t have called the referendum then, or he should not have promised we’d turn a non-binding advisory referendum into a binding one with his bloody silly commitment to honour the vote even if it was 49.99% Remain and 50.01% Leave or he should have had a proper binding referendum with a bar to passing which was set appropriately given the huge changes that leaving the EU would bring and which could be overturned when significant evidence of tampering came to light.

It’s a lot more bloody complex than saying “Cameron did not want Brexit” - he was a Eurosceptic after all and privately wanted “less EU” as he put it.

To be honest I think you can lay this thing equally at the feet of Cameron and Johnson with May only a little way behind.

We knew that then - he knows it now!

The government are happy to make a big thing of clapping the NHS but haven’t included nurses, junior doctors , porters etc in the pay rise for service during CV

another spelling mistake… you should have written « clamping » not clapping Eddie :joy:

Apparently the nurses had already negotiated a three year pay deal.

In 2018 before Covid

I don’t think Johnson wanted Brexit either nor any of his family. It was his best vehicle for his ambitions. Says a great deal about his integrity

It took him about three days to decide. How many daisies did he get through. In, out, what’s best for me as he plucked at the petals.

Oh fark, basically Brexit is about to really mean Brexit - I wonder how much people will like when we get to the end of the “Phoney Brexit” phase.

I think Mr Johnson has done a fantastic job in putting the country first.

This fully explains why:

Sorry Paul, missed your comment.

It is what they really wanted all along.
Just like they wouldn’t look for Russian interference in the Brexit referendum as it would help their cause.
Bloody self seekers the lot.
Don’t give a damn about democracy or what the electorate really want, just so they get the result that serves their interests.
By the way, Russia is also supposed to have their hand up Le Pen’s bum!

The problem with reading anything in the Telegraph, apart from the obvious, is the comments section. Comments such as this:

"The EU want to punish us, but they only punish themselves because no deal means we follow no EU rules, recognise no EU court, ban EU fishermen from our waters and levy tariffs on EU goods.

A no deal pretty much gives the UK all it wants, and leaves the EU empty handed."

While I feel very, very sorry for the 48%, I really, really want the 52% to just sod off.

No worries

I’m not mad enough to descend into that hell.

Recent polls have it down about 37% - I think we should be kind to the Leavers who have realised it was all a stupid idea but it is a bit too late now.

I’m just wondering how many months of food to stockpile in November.

Toilet rolls perhaps - to cope with stomach complaints from chlorinated chicken and hormone injected beef

Write yourself some prescriptions and stock up on those as well.

Probably not a good idea - it’s rather a good way to get struck off.
