How good a job has Bojo and his team done so far

Hanlon’s Razon not withstanding I think we now have to ascribe the government’s actions to malice - or at any rate malicious incompetence

I think that after all these weeks of lock-down the average punter is very well aware of the risks, although there seems a certain section of the younger generation that, despite knowing, is happy to take the risk.

No 10 is becoming more like the White House everyday.

2016 - Brexiteers complain the EU is not democratic because the UK Parliament does not get to vote on EU negotiated trade deals.

2020 - Tory Brexiteers vote to deny the UK Parliament any scrutiny of UK  negotiated trade deals.

And people believed all that crap that a leave vote was “taking back control”??

I am now literally counting the seconds until I can retire and leave this god forsaken hell-hole of a place; I only hope that in 10 years France has not descended down the same rabbit hole.

I hope the French tendency to take to the streets will prevent that.

I don’t like Priti Patel any more than you do, but your use of a derogatory term instead of her first name is neither witty nor amusing. Given the occasional strictness of the admin team, I am surprised it hasn’t been moderated out.

Don’t worry, she hasn’t been singled out. We try to make up derogatory names for all of the fuckwits allegedly trying to “run” the UK.

spelling mistake! shouldn’t there be an « i » in « run » after the u?

They’ve already done that!

Lastest from the funny farm

After years of falsely bleating that MPs had no scrutiny over EU trade agreements John Redwood, Iain Duncan Smith, Mark François, Steve Baker et al all queued up last night to dutifully vote against MPs having scrutiny of Dept of Trade trade deals.

The Tory party - taking back control.

Should not post this stuff as it depresses me too much !

Bring on the Russian report.

Have a great sunny day

i think that I mentioned that

Damp squib now and any flak will be ridden out until the news cycle moves on (cf Cummings, Care home workers comment, etc, etc, etc).

Would have been a bombshell before the election, of course but significantly emasculated now.

It wasn’t intended to be witty or amusing Ronald. It was intended as an accurate description of a horrible, selfish, patronising bully.

I think it achieved that, if you don’t mind me saying so :slightly_smiling_face:

Ah, but will it be Le Pen’s followers out on the streets?
Hopefully if Trump is defeated in November, voters everywhere will come to see that autocratic leaders are not worth the candle.

I hope so but even if Trump is kicked out Turkey, Hungary and now Poland - not to forget the UK are still carrying that candle.

We had detective in our house on Christmas Day 1956, as someone had stolen our car.
It was found in nearby, but all the petrol had been siphoned out.
Someone obviously knew that Dad had access to petrol for his job.

He is well acquainted with the Defence and Security world, so let’s hope that he cares enough to stick two fingers up at BoJo.

Poland is as divided as the UK, with the young people very much opposed to their right wing, religiously led government.
Turkey is dangerous, as if you complain or belong to the intelligentsia, you end up in jail.
Hungary will need to listen to the EU much more know because of Covid and the new economic rescue package.
Let’s hope that they will be able to ameliorate some of the more appalling dictats of the present government.

Main conclusion of the Russia report is that nobody knows the extent of Russian influence in the UK electoral system and nobody in the government was interested in finding out.
But in respect to the delay in publishing the report, No. 10 lied, lied, lied and lied again.
No surprises there, then!

Not so much smoking gun as dereliction of duty.

Because they knew that Tory members of the Lords and maybe even MP’s had bee n compromised by Russian money and it would harm their Brexit campaign.
This lot will do anything, or nothing in their demonic rush to Brexit.
Dominic Grieve, an honourable man, became a hate figure for Cummings, who doesn’t even know the meaning of the word.
It really all shows that this government is not fit to govern.
