Bonjour les tous. Audez moi svp. I have just made a chicken pie with sweet ready made pastry! Netto/Aldi/Leclerc/Intermarche sell diff types. Unles it says Pizza I have bo idea what I am buying. What is brise? Is feuillette filo or puff? Sable? Oh dear. I once made a pizza with sweet pastry in error. Gross. Had to bin it. Yuk.
pâte feuilletée Puff pastry. for chicken pie. for me. Short crust for meat and potato, etc 8 ozs flour 2 ozs butter 2 ozs lard, Blend to crumb then salt and then cold water to mix,
Enjoy
Pâte brisée : shortcrust pastry
Pâte sablée: sweet shortcrust pastry
Pâte feuilletée: puff pastry
Pâte à choux: choux pastry
Pâte a crèpes: pancake batter
Pâte à beignet: fritter batter
Pâte à brik: filo near as dammit
Pâte à pain: bread or pizza dough (your baker will sell you some if you ask).
Nah! Nowhere near filo. Supermarket brik is just too thick! You can’t roll it into little cigars and even small samosas are a stretch.
True and it isn’t all flexible either, but if you get it from your local Moroccan granny who sells it it works well. Or make strudel so delicious
