On my phone I can select the skin tone of some emoji, thumbs up being one of those but web sites interpet them differently sometimes

Done a bit of research and you are partly right but almost all sources say that honey is better than processed sugar taken any way other than in natural fruit and veg (which I have been majoring on). The Mayo clinic even sets an advised limit on honey taken for heart reasons, thus mine, believe it or not between 2 and 4 table spoons a day :astonished:. My intake is no way near that, 2 or 3 tiny teaspoons a day in total in coffee, a bit more if I put some on toast, thus avoiding processed sugar but also butter, another thing I have cut right down on. Thus probably less than 1 tablespoon, never mind 4.

If it takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to degrade, how long does it take for the plasticisers to leach into the water in the bottle?

I have no idea.

But it’s not about how long it takes the plastic to degrade when discarded but how long it is before the bottled water company’s lawyers get cold feet.

Evidence please as they havent been around that long. I bought insulation made from pladtic bottles the label said. Fast forward about 18 years and its just dust now and that was never in the sun being under the floor.

Up to you entirely what you consume but natural real butter helps reduce sugar spikes and contains essential fats. C15 seem to be a good one for cardiovascular disease but early days yet.

We buy organic jams, with e.g. 38g, 31g (marmalade) or even 20g (blackcurrant) final sugar content. And no, there’s no sweetener in them.

We get them in Biocoop, Graines de Soleil, over the border in Spain, and from taleoo.de in Germany. There’s also a range of Bonne Maman available chez the usual suspects called Intense that has quite a bit less sugar. They taste much fruitier without the sugar overload too.

That’s interesting. I can’t eat a normal jam as it’s just sickly sweet to me. 20g per 100g I may be able to do and if it’s quite tart better still.

Not really a jam eater, but we get given quite a lot each autumn.

However, when I was a lot younger, always used to buy Stute Extra Diabetic jam which is often 90% fruit. Funnily enough, apropos @SuePJ used to buy it from an excellent Polish deli that forty year’s later is still flourishing in S Manchester.

Either way a stupid thing for diabetics to eat. Even at 90% fruit thats still a lot of carbohydrates. What if they treated drug addicts in the same way, give them a fix and 50y later still addicted if they are still alive.

Its best before, not bad after. We eat well past BB date and still here.
