This is an absolute must for anybody wanting to explain what being being British means. It has potential for use as a short course for people who wish to convert:
Self-depreciation? Guess the Brits I've met aren't really Brits then (or maybe it's got to do with the fact that most of them have been working in the banking business).... Love the "gastropub" though, including gastro as in gastroenteritis.
Except in Scotland where the question "Whose round is it?" is certain to empty a pub... Or was that just my family?
This is so accurate - I particularly like the bit about buying drinks in rounds meaning being an accepted part of a group.
