What is your experience using Protection Juridique., but not sure if I would be better off buying it from my bank or should I consider insurance company like Allianz or AXA (looks like they have more extensive policies) or a broker? I speak French, so an English-speaking provider is not necessary.
Is there anything I should keep in mind when choosing one?
I’ve checked with my back (CA Britline) their legal protection is 9 EUR /month, but it seems that they have 2 month cancellation notice period on annual renewal date (not sure if it’s normal)
Did you have an experience using them or other providers?
If you have an experience cancelling it, which one is easy and quick to cancel (from your experience)? I can’t stand wasting time sending letters to cancel services in France and then wait endlessly.
All I can say is that I have it with CA local branch not Britline for the same cost as you and hopefully will never need to use it, but you never know whats round the corner. If you are not happy, then cancel it by the official method for peace of mind and find another provider.
I can’t remember choosing but have always had it. Well worth it too. Years ago when I bought my Teardrop caravan from the makers in Leicester and the chassis snapped in two after only a couple of thousand kms, I appealed to the insurers. They said do no more but they will handle everything.
A man came round on rdv, and photographed the whole thing first then spread all the various bits out on the ground. Many more photos followed with 3 pages of foolscap ending with the conclusion that the makers were 100% liable for the costs of repair and of my efforts to have the remains trailered back from the Pyrenees.
Up to that point they had totally refused to do anything other than have me send, at my cost, the whole thing back to them. When I refused they stopped talking and set a lawyer onto me who pointed out that his bill would add massively to what I would have to pay. Once translated this expert’s 3 page missive and my advice that if they took me to court they would not only have to pay my and the expert’s air fares to attend but also, as he didn’t speak English, an official court translater too.
They paid every penny and I got it repaired but not on the same dodgie chassis, a trailer expert in Perigueux transferred the whole body to an existing new French light trailer.
So, Juridique, yes, very worth while. Took over a year though,
