How to find a savings account?

I want to open a savings account, or preferably a savings account(s) + consider some investment options. I shouldn’t encounter any issues with the required documents for opening. The amount I’m depositing is relatively small (savings from my salary).

Question: How can I find the best conditions? Which websites or aggregators of offers do you use? Are there independent financial advisers who can recommend specific products? How can I find them (preferably free of charge)? Maybe you’d recommend something more modern rather than French banks for example some investment platforms or fin tech ?

Thank you for your help

Your bank will offer a Livret A and LDD which are both tax-free (limit 22.950 € and 12.000 € respectively).

A “relatively small” amount probably wouldn’t merit the cost of an adviser.

Someone else more knowledgeable will reply soon but just to say: a truly independent financial adviser isn’t go to be free. If they’re pushing specific products without charging you a fee for the advice, then it’s because they’re getting commission. Or in the case of a bank, because they have sales targets to meet.

Presumably you’ve already filled your Livret A and the LDD to the brim?
And the LEP, although that’s only for people on low incomes.

For investment, rather than savings, there are tax-free wrappers available. What you choose to put in them is up to you.

Lots of personal finance mags out there but I’d be wary of their advice as they’re probably reliant on their advertisers.

A nice boring index fund, perhaps? If you’re youngish and can afford to ride out the downturns.

These are the basic approaches, as others have already said. And also reiterate that a free financial adviser isn’t independent.

There is a financial advisor on the site who may be abke to give you further pointers @Dave_Lawson

If you want to book a meeting on the link below I’d be happy to talk you through them.

There would’nt be a charge and we don’t offer the easy access banking options, just a bit of guidance required.
