Has anyone opened an ‘HSBC Expat’ bank account since being in France as uk expat?
I was bored because of weather and was looking to see if there were any Uk Banks that I could open another account with as an expat.
I have been able to keep my Uk banks after I moved to France. Barclays closed expat accounts which must have caused numerous problems for people.
I have a French account and digital bank plus the uk banks but the ‘HSBC Expat’ looked interesting as it is world wide.

Thank you for that Porridge. It looks like the HSBC Expat site is different the French HSBC but after reading the reviews not something I’m going to try in the future.
I have one colleague who - in desperation after Barclays closed his account- opened an account with HSBC International or whatever the offshore arm is called. He was most unimpressed with their customer service.
Barclays closed my account after having banked with them for about thirty years so I opened an HSBC account…..so far so good.
It does seem that there are two different types of HSBC banking the Expat and then the individual bank of a particular country.
