Huere are you on Huawei?

Even if they aren’t using it to spy on us, it is pretty certain they know how to make it crash if we are too critical of their policies.

Completely, China have no qualms about throwing their weight around (no more than Trump).

Well that is not unexpected is it?
China wants to co-exist on their terms alone.

There was an amusing moment in a BBC broadcast yesterday. They interviewed a tech expert who stated very clearly that it was impossible for the Huawei components to be used for any kind of espionage - and that in any case all the alternatives (Erikson, etc) were also actually made in China - so having just made it clear that there was no security aspect to the decision at all, the broadcast immediately switched to a political correspondent who said that ‘security had won out over economics’ - ie. the political correspondent repeated the government line even though it had just been rubbished by the BBC’s own expert!

Although Erikson, Nokia etc are probably made in China the important distinction is that the design is done in the EU.

Some more insights into what’s really driving the Huawei shenanigans in the calls to ban Tik Tok (after not its Chinese, but its American users undermined the Trump Tulsa rally) and the latest USA Attorney General’s speech - which could hardly be clearer about the fear that China will “surpass the United States as the world’s pre-eminent superpower.”

Who would have thought!

Chlorinated chicken and a sold sign outside each hospital next!
