Well mes amis, we’re watching a genocide and doing SFA.
We’re pretty vocal about driving licences. Very keen on discussing residency cards. Both are important topics but not in the same bracket as having your children slaughtered by American bombs or Jewish (term used advisedly) tanks. I guess the German folk living near concentration camps felt the same.
I am, and have been busy expressing my outrage in those ways which I feel might just make a difference.
However, we have to be careful not to phrase things in such a way that allows the playing of the anti-semitism card, so I don’t think it wise to allocate a religion to tanks.
I would imagine most of us on here are outraged at what’s happening in Gaza, but (no excuses) no matter how outraged we are and how we express it makes absolutely fuck all difference. Even the BBC seem to have given up prioritising reporting on Gaza (and Ukraine ) . On my little tablet computer, latest Gaza outrage is way down the list, behind some tech CEO caught on a big screen with not his wife (oops) and 2 insignificant “pop stars” getting hitched.
80 or so arrests for protesting against the genocide are even further down the page.
I am incandescent with rage but all I can do is shout and the television which then upsets our pooch.
This morning I read of a number of people arrested for supporting an outlawed Palestinian organisation, the worlds gone mad.
You can join marches, write to your MP (or other representative if not in the UK), or donate to any of the organisations working in Gaza such as UNICEF, MSF etc.
No, none of those will stop the war - that is only possible if governments act.
That they are not doing so is inexcusable and indefensible.
I make a point of not buying anything with Israeli origin which in the grand scheme of things probably has the same effect as donating to organisations who attempt to provide aid to Palestinians being butchered by Netanyahu and his cohorts, funded by an endless pot of US money (and others) ie. No effect.
Governments want to normalise these atrocities so I’ll continue share videos like this:
6 year old Hind’s conversation had me choking on my tears, but it made me even more determined to call out pro-zionist, pro-genocide ghouls on social media.
PS We mustn’t forget the other atrocities going in other parts of the world, like Congo, Sudan …
Yes, I know all about this war crime. I followed it closely, not just in Western media but also accounts in Haaretz and B’Tselem. Two courageous shining lights in the fascist state of Israel.
I admire (and have contributed to) poor little Hind’s foundation because I like their strategy of hitting any IDF member suspected of perpetrating a war crime (and that covers most of them for me, the fools have even posted their actions on social media) with an arrest warrant if they set foot in the EU.
These people should be scared out of wits for the rest of their lives that justice will catch up on them. Just like it did for Eichmann. They are no better than him and maybe worse because they are actually pulling the triggers.
I agree entirely , but we, the West, are facilitating the Israeli bastards. Our guilt in those other conflicts is one of omission, in Gaza and the West Bank it is one of commission.
That train has left the station for me Robert. For decades Israel has hidden behind a smokescreen that any criticism of it was “anti semitic”. Thus legitimate debate on their actions has been curtailed and shutdown through fear. They have milked this way beyond my tolerance and it would now appear others.
When I look at the lack of visible outrage in the WW Jewish community at what is happening and the massive support from Jewish lobby groups WW, for example the anti Glastonbury UK Lawyers for Israel, or the unfair actions of the Board of Deputies of British Jews against their own board members who have had the courage to speak out.
I think this blind support for an evidentially fascist Israel and the WW Jewish “Omertà” is only going to stoke what a reasonable person would once have called anti semitism. None of this is anti semitic, it is anti fascist Isreal. They are committing genocide, ethnic cleansing, stealing land, bombing Lebanon. Syria, Iran and Yemen. These bastards are out of control, and IMO nobody should be afraid to say it.
I am similarly outraged and doing what little I can by not buying Israeli product. I am also now openly having the odd row with friends who think the Jewish (term used advisedly) actions are acceptable and to be applauded, rather than just biting my tongue.
I am tired of not being able to speak as I feel on apps like Whatsapp. I am now banned from another forum where, quite frankly, the reactionary, racist policies are quite scary but hardly surprising given the combined intellectual capacity of the seven or eight regular contributors. There may be others equally horrified who just watch but I stuck my neck above the parapet once too often.
Honestly, I have no confidence any of these barstewards will ever see the inside of a courtroom.
The zionist lobby is far too powerful to allow it to happen, and the world too weak/corrupt to stand up to it.
I see Netanyahu’s corruption trial has been postponed AGAIN. Food poisoning this time!
…‘and the rest’ ! Sadly, it has to be “Shame on you Starmer” at the very time the British media are giving him some credit for his dealings in International Affairs.
GENOCIDE IS REAL ! Even a young policemen; after commenting on the peaceful nature of a recent protest march, linked the dampening of the nation’s Moral Compass’ on issues such as Gaza & Sudan: with the likehood of he and his colleagues witnessing & having to deal with an increasing ‘breakdown’ in public order. The ‘Moral Compass’ , perhaps obscure, is a more revealing bellweather of a nation’s health than it’s GDP…or even it’s quantity of Sewage ‘spills’ !! (topical !)
Of course we’re outraged, but we’re powerless to stop it.
Israel splashes US money on politicians of any party who will promote Israel’s interests, so we have the Orwellian spectacle of principled protesters classified as terrorists and the perpetrators of genocide welcomed to the UK with open arms.
