I know this will be a familiar story, but in truth, the issue of finding a French carer is mainly due to the fact that my parents house won’t sell. If it did I would have them back to England in a heartbeat. Anyway that’s another story for another day. Does anyone know anyone who could provide at home live in care for my elderly Father. My mother is able and not in need of care herself, she just can’t manage my Dad anymore. They have a lovely large home with plenty of space so a carer would have a very private area to live in. If you can find one, the cost of a live in bi-lingual carer will be enormous and it will not hasten the selling of the property one bit. Reducing the asking price might be a more effective solution.

How about an assessment by the local Assistante Sociale whose job it is to help people in need. Your Mairie will tell you where to contact the local one for their commune and take it from there. He/she can get home help, meals delivered, cleaners etc, some obviously to be paid for but nothing like the cost of a full time live in carer which in itself is fraught with problems and dangers especially if they do not speak or understand relatively good French.

I am currently looking for work as a live in carer,15 years experience, trained in dementia, adults with profound disabilities and 5 years with NHS working in physciatric units, with young adults and mainly with the elderly Full UK DBS and right to work in France.
