I have been told that there is a car mechanic in Northern France, possibly Simon Dean, who may be able to get my MGF back on the road. I’ve been to Waben but could find no evidence of a garage there.
If you don’t know him, does anyone know a mechanic in or around Hesdin le Foret who may be able to help me, for a reasonable price?

Presumably you live in/around Hesdin la Foret.. sadly too far away for the trusted mechanics we use.
However, there seems to be a lot of activities involving Classic Cars in/around Hesdin la Foret. I suggest you make enquiries at your Maison d’Association or similar and get in touch with one/some of the car clubs… someone will be able to point you to a tried and trusted garage/mechanic.
If you visit one of the local Fetes, Extravaganzas which include classics on display.. talk with some of the people there and ask advice.
Meanwhile, a simple “google” brings up lots of info (which you might well have seen and discounted). Simon Dean appears to be a garage in UK!
