I Phone SE

Hi,i am looking at buying a second hand I Phone SE,i currently have an I Phone 6 and need to upgrade as they are no longer supporting it with updates,i am not a big user but just need something newer, can anyone tell me what the difference in the two phones are please,i know they are cheaper and have a slightly smaller screen but i am sure there must be other differences, thanks in advance.

It is rumoured that there will be a new iPhone SE this year, I suppose the SE4. I expect that would be outside your budget but if you’re already eying up a second-hand model and can hang on a little while, the price of what you’re looking at may drop a little.

Mrs P had an SE2 until she upgraded recently. She was very happy with it, though the battery was feeling its age.

I would be cautious buying an old phone - they all have about a 4 year useable life - buying one at 3 years old gives you - year of life before it will need replacing.

cautious buying an old phone - not necessarily for iPhone, I bought a 6S January 2017 - still going strong, though it may befall the fate of the OP’s iPhone 6.

Maybe a 6S might be a possible replacement for the OP? Seem to be some from £30 ish.

It’s your lucky day!

I have, not an hour ago, just bought a new iphone 15 and consequently will be sending my iphone 12 Mini ( slightly larger than SE, but not as big as the 13 or 14) to Africa.

Perfect screen, no scratches or nicks. Battery not brilliant but will last a day without using video too much.

£40 donation to the Donkey Sanctuary plus postage and it’s yours.

Thanks all,yes thank you Adam1,i would like to take you up on that offer if that is ok with you.

I had a Mini before I upgraded last year, they are great phones. I preferred the size too but had to upgrade for tech reasons.

Certainly ok with me! Nice that it will get a good home! It should be perfect for you if you only have light use.

It will take a day or so to finish moving data across and then clean it up for you. Message me your address and phone number that will get things rolling.

Overall size is good but Key board a tad fiddly. Bring back the Blackberry I say!

Happy days :slightly_smiling_face:

ok thanks, trying to pm,but not working at the moment

Have you already bought a phone? I was lucky to find UsedMobiles4U that offers used iPhones for sale. I bought my iPhone 13 there at a compatible price. No issues and no regrets. It works well, the camera is great, and wheat is important is that I have a guarantee, though this is a used phone. Maybe this info will be helpful for someone else.

I have an iPhone 12 mini and my wife an iPhone 13 mini. They are excellent phones being powerful and with great screens. They also have a physical sim and an esim. I bought them both from Amazon’s misnamed ‘renewed’ iphone sales. They mean refurbished. The trick is to examine the seller reviews and not the phone reviews. Amazon uses a handful of suppliers. Some have more than 20% one star reviews. Others are far better. Neither Ewa or I like large phones. Looks like Apple are no longer making the mini size.

I had a mini 13, great phone and great size.

I’ve bought quite a few refurbished electronic items and never had a problem.

My current iPhone 13 was a refurb from Amazon, I’ve bought refurbed computers from Apple and cameras from Fuji, as well as secondhand lenses and cameras from MPB.

In fact my default position nowadays is to see if I can get an item used or refurb before buying new.

As @MichaelL said though you need to check out the seller to make sure they are reputable (obviously Apple and Fujifilm are).

I probably wouldn’t buy on Facebook Marketplace though unless it was something fairly cheap where I could afford to take the hit if the deal went pear-shaped.

EBay is in between - there are reputable sellers but also scam artists, especially where electronics and cameras are concerned.

Have purchased used phones on Backmarket for years now. They are properly refurbished, graded and come with a warranty.
Hubby got a brandnew phone for second hand price because it was an unsold older model.
Very happy with their policies - you can send them your old phone and get some money off your purchase…
