I proposed today

I was visiting friend Christine because I always do when passing to check on how she is in her recovery programme from cancer, but also because I texted her earlier saying I was going to the supermarket and did she want anything, and got no reply. This is unheard of, she always replies, so I was worried.

The explanation was simple, but still a mystery, she does not know why but the last time she texted me it came from a number, not her name, and I automatically recorded it as her new ID. Not so, but that explains why she did not reply.

Anyway, we were discussing a mutual female friend whose voice is very high and squeaky and how I have great difficulty in understanding her as a result. Christine replied that it must be a male/female thing because, as she gets older she finds deeper male voices harder.

So naturally I said ‘will you marry me?’ She was not shocked but said ‘why?’ and I said because we are compatable in discussing with both sexes and could help each other out.

We laughed and I said that I had been proposed to in the same vein on here recently (@Rachel05 )

Only later did I realise what a daring and foolish thing I had done. What if she had said ‘Yes!!!’? :astonished:

Sorry for the clickbait title.

Does that mean I’ve got to buy a new hat David ? :kiss_woman_man:

Not at all!

This morning I proposed to my wife that she didn’t need another summer frock because it had the same colours and a similar style to one she already had.

Despite these very sound arguments, the proposal was not adopted and she now has even less space in her wardrobe.

OTOH it provides a sound precedent for my next purchase…

Everybody needs a hat this weather, new or otherwise.

David, I was thinking of something ‘quiet’ like this.

or even this

or do you think I could be a bit bolder with this

Those hat choices are brilliant! The second one has a really classic charm, but I say if you’re feeling bold, go for the third! It’s got that playful flair that would definitely turn heads (in a good way). Then again, maybe bring all three and pick one based on how mischievous David’s being on the day?

My vote is for the first hat. The last one might attract insects of the biting variety

My vote goes to hat no.1

@Rachel05 I’d almost agree to get married again just to see you turn up in any or all 3 of those hats. :joy:

And, in the unlikely event that I ever do, I will hold you to that.

Number 2 is the only one that actually looks ok to me, but they’re all way too big.

Maybe because that is the only one who is not wearing anything else, or is that just my imagination?

I couldn’t possibly comment about what you are imagining! :joy:

How about these ‘facinators’ @Ancient_Mariner - is that better, size wise ?

I can’t go for outrageous clothes these days so thought I’d be a bit racy with the hat :womans_hat:
